Paul Cotter

Born in Brighton, England, Paul studied Geography in Manchester, worked on glaciers in Pakistan, then decided to become a filmmaker.

Paul recently completed “Bomber”, his debut feature as a writer and director. “Bomber” premiered in competition at SXSW (South by Southwest), and went on to win the Best Director Award at the Savannah Film Fesitval, the Best Feature Award at the San Luis Obispo Int’l Film Festival, the Best Feature and Audience Awards at the Estes Park Film Festival, the Best Feature at the 540 Film Festival and the Best UK Feature at the Falstaff (Stratford-upon-Avon) Film Festival.

Prior to completing “Bomber”, Paul’s short films premiered at the Berlinale (“Die Berliner Mauer”), Sundance (“Estes Avenue”), SXSW (“Odd Shoe”) & Palm Springs (“Last Hand Standing”). “Die Berliner Mauer” won the Short Film Jury Prize at the Hong Kong Int’l Film Festival. His debut short, “Jeff Farnsworth” sold to HBO.

Paul has directed several award winning commercials, including “Stupid”, an anti-smoking ad which is part of the permanent collection at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. His work has also won five Tellys and has been honoured at the Chicago International Television Festival.
