David Mould - aka ‘Mouldy’ - is one of the most prolific music video Directors in the World.
Post-art college Dave ventured out as a self-taught drummer in numerous unsuccessful bands, fortunately his passion for self-taught film took him in a new and ultimately more successful direction.
After pavement-pounding, door-knocking and finally blagging his first professional video for rap band Cut 2 Kill, he was immediately signed to Partizan. His next video was “Popscene” for Blur, which started the journey of over 100 more music videos (some with over 200 million views!!!).
His career as a Director has spanned over fifteen years and includes work with Blur, Cardigans, Doves, Elbow, Evanescence, Feeder, Kylie Minogue, Oasis, Olly Murs, Placebo, Radiohead, Robbie Williams, Suede, Take That and Tom Jones plus many many more. His latest work for cutting edge and popular artists includes Labrinth, Delilah, Miles Kane, Kwabs and man of the moment John Newman.
Having experienced enduring success in the world of videos, he is now diversifying and developing his ideas into the expansive and exciting world of directing commercials. Recent projects include TVCs, idents, brand films and microsites for 888 Poker, Honda, William Hill and Ballantines for agencies including BMB, Fabula, Fold 7, Geronimo and M&C Saatchi.
His reputation is for strong performance, nuanced atmosphere, beautiful considered cinematography and natural drama, intelligent editing and the odd touch of wit.
